Human Diversity Lab
We study how children think about themselves and the people around them.
Some of our primary lines of work focus on the emergence and development of social identities, prejudice and discrimination, children’s understanding of inequality, and prosocial behavior.
We use diverse experimental, correlational, and observational methods including tools from developmental science, social psychology, behavioral economics, and legal studies to address these questions.
Members of our lab share a commitment to understand and improve human social experience and interaction through a scientific lens.
Our lab is currently running the largest study of transgender children and is starting new studies on gender diversity in childhood.
Our lab includes a group of scholars from a variety of backgrounds with a range of expertise and research interests.
